MORE STEPS UP?? WALKING IT IN ALBAICIN
Granada, Spain
19 May

We arrived in Bumblebee Hostel in the old town of Albaicin, Granada quite early in the morning. So early that the only people up at the time was the ones who were checking out and the owner, who was expecting us. It´s a nice house with a great view overlooking the city, privately owned and it´s just sooooo comfy. There´s an open patio where sunset watching is a daily routine and free use of the kitchen. It was such a nice feeling that we impulsively decided to stay 4 nights instead of the 2 we planned for.

Yep... fresh from the train and equipped with a map from Sarah, our lovely hostel-lord, we ventured out to look for a market where we could stock up food and stuff whilst waiting for our room to be ready. It was then that we discovered the loveliness of the old town Albaicin. Old style Spanish coutryard houses creating a pool of white in the hills of Albaicin. The narrow cobbled stoned streets somehow linked everything; where houses have names like Carmen de San Jose or Carmen de las Mevillas. Due to the land contour, the houses here were built according to the land structure. The actual house might be a couple of steps down (...or up) from its front gate.

The days in Granada had been about walking it. Seriously walking. It´s walking in the hardest, cruellest, toughest kind. The steps of Villenouva de St.Cristobal leading towards the hostel was one of a kind. If we eat more times in Spain, it´s because we need more energy to explore the city. Coz we were walking it...

In case I´d be dumb enough to try wearing flip flops in walking the city. Somebody, please slap me! Hard!
